Governance and safeguarding are fundamental to our provision of high standard and safe in-home support care services.

Recruitment

Applewood recruitment policies ensure all staff are both garda vetted and background checked.   All staff must meet mandatory minimum qualifications and their skills are continuously reviewed by management team to ensure they fully qualified to deliver in-home care support services to our clients.

 

 

Induction, Training & Staff Awareness

At Induction ‘Duty of Care’ is emphasised which reinforces the on-line specialised training on Safeguarding of Vulnerable Persons.  All staff are encouraged to be of the mindset of Transparency, Open Disclosure and Early intervention in terms of risk.  

Staff fully understand the importance of the written record and the need for documentation, reporting and review

We have an annual Safeguarding Awareness Week to remind staff of this duty.

 

 

Support & Supervision

Our team structures and Open-Door policy encourages staff to openly communicate with the management team and be involved with continuous improvement of services. 

Our supervisors actively monitor the correct implementation of company policies and individual Care Plans in clients homes. Supervisions provide excellent opportunities for feedback, learning and improvement and a chance to say well done in your job.

 

 

Obligations and Memberships

As an approved HSE Home Support Care providers, Applewood must quarterly report on a range of performance indicators to which ensures close monitoring of activities.

The management team regularly attend various training and industry events in order to keep current and to support staff in the delivery of high quality home support services.

Applewood is a member of HCCI and attends conferences and contributes to research in the industry.
