About 10,000 people suffer a stroke in Ireland every year with approx. 2,500 stroke-related deaths occur every year. Stroke disease is a common cause of memory problems (cognitive impairment/dementia) and mental health problems such as depression in later life. It is linked to epilepsy and is a common cause of falls and walking difficulties in later life.
Our staff understand that early and quick response greatly affects patient outcomes. Our care workers are familiarised with FAST and are experienced in rehabilitative care support and training to understand the particular challenges faced by our clients affected by stroke.
As everyone’s experience and need are individual and unique, our care services are tailored to specifically match client requirements. Our Care Plans are reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to meet client care needs.
All of the services are tailored to meet the needs of each individual and our care services are available from as little as an hour a week right through to 24/7 care at home. Some of the home care services we offer clients who have suffered a stroke include:

Assistance with shopping, appointments and recreational activities
Meal preparation and light housework
Short term respite at home to allow the family carers some free time.
High dependency care at home
