Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Care

Alzheimer’s and dementia are very common in Ireland.  It is estimated that there 55,000 people currently live with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of Dementia in Ireland today. The consensus from policy makers is that individuals fair better if facilitated to remain in their own familiar home environments for as long as is safe and practicable.

We understand that everyone’s experience with dementia is individual and unique and our person-centred care services respect and honour this, recognizing each person’s own history, personality, needs and wishes.  We take the time and make the effort to get to really know the person as an individual. We offer the person with dementia choices within their ability to choose.

Our care workers have specific experience and training to understand the particular challenges faced by our clients affected with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Our staff are trained in particular strategies of purposeful distraction, anxiety reduction and meaningful involvement to encourage clients and to facilitate everyday tasks of personal care, mealtimes and nutrition, medication management and fostering general well-being.
